4-H is a youth-centric program, empowering young people to become engaged and responsible members of their communities. The name "4-H" stands for: "head, heart, hands, and health", which are the four pillars of the program.
4-H provides a wide range of educational opportunities and activities for youth and is a hands-on learning experience. 4-H fosters leadership development and skills in areas such as: agriculture, science, technology, engineering math (STEM), healthy living, and citizenship. Students may engage in various projects, clubs, and events related to their areas of interest.
Through 4-H, students develop life skills such as: teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The program encourages youth to set goals, learn new skills, and participate in community service activities. It also provides opportunities for competitions, camps, conferences, and scholarships.
Overall, 4-H aims to help young people grow into competent, confident, and caring individuals who are prepared to make positive contributions to their communities and to society.
